“That, in turn, resulted in work that will speed up the remainder of CU’s development, as well as add things that weren’t planned for CU at launch,” commented Jacobs.
In this interview, he stated that the work being done on Ragnarok: Colossus had caused investment into the studio and thereby caused an expansion of the team itself. Mark Jacobs, the design chief for City State Entertainment, participated in an interview with MassivelyOP. The tech work that has been done for Ragnarok: Colossus allegedly benefits the development of Camelot Unchained, but the stream did not give footage of how this works. Instead, fans were given a blanket promise insisting that the development team has made progress, but no evidence was given.
#Camelot unchained open beta update#
The big Camelot Unchained announcement today was: a new PVE game! from MMORPGīackers all tuned into the stream for hoping for news on Camelot Unchained. A release date, beta announcement, or even an update on the progress they have made in development would do tons to ease fan’s concerns, but none of that came. This is not, however, the news that the backers of Camelot Unchained wanted to hear. The upcoming game announced unexpectedly is a co-op PVE game titled Ragnarok: Colossus. It acts as a third-person action game that puts tower defense elements into the game, allowing you to fight a battle with hundreds of enemies pursuing you. After raising $2.2 million in funding, the game is still, seven years later, without an official release date. While normally this would not be a problem, they announced it to the community waiting for Camelot Unchained. The backers of the upcoming title have been waiting since the Kickstarter back in 2013. If you're looking for that DAoC experience from long ago with its own new twists, I think this is the game for us.City State Entertainment recently announced a new game through its YouTube steam. Will be Subscription based, BUT expected to be cheaper than the current MMOs. Players can set up their own in attempts at selling to other players. Potential of Guild and Player Housing anywhere in the game world. Crafting can play a LARGE part of the RvR experience if that is a role you want to play in it. Extended version of the Holy-Trinity system (Healer, Tank, DPS) with a few additions such as Hybrid and Crafter. The sensation of it actually feeling like a reward. If its good- it will take plenty of time and effort. Limited PvE, to the point of it being considered siege only.
There are some key things that will either attract or deter players: For those looking for a PvP driven game with the holy-trinity class system we all love and enjoy, CU (Camelot Unchained) is looking like a place to be. Now, this game seems more along the lines of a 2015 launch which is quite far away. The rest of videos posted here will be either from their website or as an update to what is going on. The following video talks about the game engine involved, which will be developed in house by someone (and others) very experienced with this sort of thing. You can ask Mark any question you have regarding CU and he will answer it!! GET ON THIS. (Source) I have noticed that the only thread pertaining to this was not updated and was merely just a "Hey look at this." Since Camelot Unchained has recently been backed by Obsidian Entertainment and the KickStarter page will hit the funding amount, it is seeming more and more likely that we'll see a beta in 2014. Just 4 days ago, City State Entertainment put up their KickStarter page for Camelot Unchained.
